Wallplate with Dual 6P6C Jacks Wallplate with Dual 6P6C Jacks These wallplates with two 6P6C screw terminal jacks can be used to terminate cable for voice or DSL.

Two-pair or four-pair cable can be terminated as described on the pages about wiring for a 2nd line, wiring for a 3rd line, and 2 line jacks to provide flexible access to multiple lines .

If connecting a CAT5E cable from a splitter for DSL, you can a pair from the splitter voice terminal to one jack for voice and different pair from the splitter DSL/MODEM/ATU-R terminals to the second jack for DSL.

These pictures above show front and back of the wallplate.  Click on these pictures to see higher resolution versions.  Note that color coding of the wires on these jacks matches the older "telco" system, which is normal for screw terminal jacks.

These wallplates are offered here in white or beige.

Surface Mount 6P6C Jack These surface mount 6P6C screw terminal jacks can be used to terminate cable for voice or DSL.  The color coding of the wires on these jacks matches the older "telco" system, which is normal for screw terminal jacks.  These jacks have snap-on covers.  The jacks can be mounted on almost any surface either with screws (not included) or a double-sided adhesive pad (included).

I generally recommend avoiding surface mounted jacks and exposed cable in favor of wall plates with the cable routed concealed in wall voids in order to achieve an installation protected from damage with better appearance.  However these are offered here because there are occasions when a surface mount jack is the only practical solution.

These jacks are offered here in ash (very light grey - some would call this "putty" - this color is commonly used by telcos for surface mount jacks because it "blends in" so well), ivory (beige), and white.

6P6C Jack

6P6C Jack
These CAT3 keystone jack modules are used to terminate two-pair or four-pair cable for voice or DSL.  The modules have color code markings for both the older "telco" and newer "multi-pair" color code systems.  If terminating four-pair cable, there are punchdown slots provided (but not marked) for the fourth (white/brown) pair, but since there are only six pins in the jack obviously there are no connections inside the jack from these slots.

These pictures show modules in various orientations.  Click on any of these pictures to see higher resolution versions.

These modules fit in the faceplates offered below or most standard keystone openings in faceplates, surface boxes, or patch panels.

Wires are seated in the 110 type IDC connections on these jacks using a single-wire 110 punchdown tool.  You'll note in the above pictures that the physical layout of the white and ivory modules are different.  Either one is suitable for voice or DSL.

These pictures show a white module and a black module in various orientations.  Click on any of these pictures to see higher resolution versions.

These modules fit in the faceplates offered below or most standard keystone openings in faceplates, surface boxes, or patch panels.

8P8C CAT5E Jack
8P8C Colors These modules are offered with white, ivory, black, red, or blue fronts.  For DSL, recommend use of one of these modules in a color different from your voice jacks, to clearly indicate that the jack should not be used for a phone.

The Erico MPLS single gang low voltage drywall mount frame eliminates need for an electrical box when installing telephone and Ethernet wiring(low voltage Class 2).  The mount frame locking screws provide stable support for faceplates in drywall between 1/2" and 1-1/4" (double 5/8") thick.  Installation is simple and only requires a drywall saw and screwdriver.  The mount also makes "fishing" wire in empty wall voids easier because there is not an electrical box structure in the way.

For low voltage Class 2 use only.
Do NOT use for high voltage (AC) power.
