You can download the manual for the DUALjack at http://www.dualjack.com/assets/pdf/DualJack_manual.pdf. Do they really work?If you need a phone jack where it is physically impractical or simply too much work to run cable, the DUALjack is a great solution for many situations. I had tried "powerline adapter" jacks in the past and was not happy with the results obtained. DUALjack is distinctly different because it uses a 2.4 GHZ wireless connection rather than passing signal over the power lines. With the DUALjack, I was able to achieve a very usable voice connection at my detached carport about 200 feet away from the base (plus passing thru brick wall of the house). I was able to a achieve a modem connection inside the house at 33.6kbps even in an environment with some other devices like a wireless LAN router operating in the 2.4 GHZ spectrum. That's significant, because 33.6kbps is the maximum speed for most fax machines and modems in cable/satellite "set-top" receiver boxes. In an environment without 2.4 GHZ interference, you might achieve as high as 50kbps with a 56K dial-up modem (if your phone line will support that speed - mine won't). If you've tried "powerline adapter" jacks that transmit via your house electrical wiring and been disappointed, you should try one of these instead. If you want a phone jack someplace in your home where you don't want to run cable, DUALjack is a great solution! Is DUALjack perfect for all situations?DUALjack only extends voice phone signals. DUALjack will not extend DSL signal. DUALjack requires an AC power outlet. If those limitations don't apply to your situation, then you might want to consider the DUALjack over a cable solution.
