Do they really work?

Yes, they do!  I tested a DUALjack in my home before deciding to offer them on the site.  I now have one permanently installed to connect a corded phone beside my living room couch.  The couch is not against a wall, but has a floor power outlet next to it.  There was simply no way to get a phone cable to the couch without breaking concrete.  Just an example of a perfect application for a DUALjack.  No more running to the kitchen when the phone rings!  The signal is so clear that I can even talk to my father who wears hearing aids.  He is unable to understand me on a regular cordless phone, but hears me fine on a corded phone connected via the DUALjack.

If you need a phone jack where it is physically impractical or simply too much work to run cable, the DUALjack is a great solution for many situations.

I had tried "powerline adapter" jacks in the past and was not happy with the results obtained.  DUALjack is distinctly different because it uses a 2.4 GHZ wireless connection rather than passing signal over the power lines.  With the DUALjack, I was able to achieve a very usable voice connection at my detached carport about 200 feet away from the base (plus passing thru brick wall of the house).  I was able to a achieve a modem connection inside the house at 33.6kbps even in an environment with some other devices like a wireless LAN router operating in the 2.4 GHZ spectrum.  That's significant, because 33.6kbps is the maximum speed for most fax machines and modems in cable/satellite "set-top" receiver boxes.  In an environment without 2.4 GHZ interference, you might achieve as high as 50kbps with a 56K dial-up modem (if your phone line will support that speed - mine won't).  If you've tried "powerline adapter" jacks that transmit via your house electrical wiring and been disappointed, you should try one of these instead.

If you want a phone jack someplace in your home where you don't want to run cable, DUALjack is a great solution!

Is DUALjack perfect for all situations?

In fairness, the answer is no.  DUALjack, like all devices using wireless connections, is unable to work thru most metal walls.  My detached office has wood siding and DUALjack works fine between the house and the office (about 60 feet plus two outside walls).  However, my shop building is metal and DUALjack only works if the roll-up door is up and the Extension Unit can "see" the house thru the door.

DUALjack only extends voice phone signals.  DUALjack will not extend DSL signal.  DUALjack requires an AC power outlet.

If those limitations don't apply to your situation, then you might want to consider the DUALjack over a cable solution.

DUALjack Sets
DUALjack Bubble Pack DUALjack Bubble Pack Each set includes 1 base unit and 1 extension unit.  A base unit can support up to four extension units.  Unfortunately, additional extension units are not available separately, but at these prices, you can order multiple sets and use just the extension units from the second, third, and fourth set and have three spare base units.  The additional sets are discounted to about the same price as the MSRP for just Extension Units when they were available!
These prices should be unbeatable!  (MSRP is $79.99)  The manufacturer contacted me because they had a significant over stock of these units and asked me to consider offering them via HomePhoneWiring.com.  At first I was reluctant, but they sent me a unit to test and I was pretty happy with the performance.  When I found out that I could offer single DUALjack sets at 30 percent less than most vendors, I decided visitors to HomePhoneWiring.com would be well served by me offering DUALjacks.  So here they are!
